This is a blog about design. Its purpose is to facilitate an open, honest dialogue about the many design issues affecting our community. Whether it’s at the scale of a city, neighborhood, or your own home, we’d like to hear about it and in turn read about it.
The blog is maintained by the AIA Seattle Design Committee. The purpose of the AIA Seattle Design Committee is to promote design excellence among members of the AIA, and foster a collaborative spirit between architects and the broader design community. In realizing this purpose, the committee promotes a range of activities, including Design Salons, exhibits, and lectures, intended to encourage a robust discourse on the art and design of building.

Greetings from the Bay Area to my former design committee friends! Wow, this blog is fabulous! Great to see the book salons continuing. Love the craftmanship theme. AIA SFO doesn’t seem to have anything like it so I’m thinking of trying to get something going down here. Stay in touch! Maybe I’ll send you a blog post for your consideration. Cheers!

Jim, where did you end up taking a job? We miss you up here – the committee is changing constantly for the better. Are you back up at all this year?
